Rico HGR shears are vertical cutting machines (the blade-holder is supported on bearings), allowing the angle to be varied in line with the thickness of the plate, something which is not possible with oscillating cutting machines where the angle is fixed.
This solution is most effective to reduce the “twist plate” in more demanding services as it allows the machine a longer life with low maintenance, either in the slip of the blade beam, or the movement of the back gauge through hardened ball screws with high-quality.
